Gamma-Tech's first installation in South Korea. A Cross-Belt Recycled Metals Analyzer (CBRM) was commissioned at Hyundai Steel in 2024, with our VP of Technology on site to oversee installation and start-up. It now delivers continuous, full-stream chemistry on scrap headed for the melt shop.
Two Gamma-Tech analyzers on site. Nucor-Berkeley added its second analyzer in 2023 as part of Nucor's sustainability initiative, putting real-time scrap chemistry at the front end of one of North America's leading EAF steelmakers.
Gamma-Tech analyzers have measured more than 26 million tons of recycled metal at ferrous and non-ferrous operations around the world. Customer results stay confidential, but we're glad to walk you through what an installation looks like at a site like yours.

SBQ, rail, wire rod, flat-rolled/HRC and high-formability plate. Copper is the element that moves the money, and once it's in the bath it can't be refined out. Our analyzers measure Cu, Ni, Cr and Mn in ferrous shred on the belt, with guaranteed accuracy of ±0.02% on 3-hour analyses.
Wrought 3xxx, 5xxx and 6xxx alloys. Iron-bearing intermetallics are the constraint, and visual grading can't see them. PGNAA reads the full depth of the stream, and our work on on-line analysis of shredded aluminum scrap shows how the same approach carries over. Ask us about your alloy mix.
304, 316 and 430. Nickel and molybdenum set the price. Each element answers PGNAA with its own gamma-ray signature, so nickel- and chromium-bearing scrap can be measured in-line instead of sorted by eye and spot sample. Talk to us about your grade mix.
Bare bright, #1 and #2. Purity grade sets the price, and today that grade is mostly called by eye. Continuous, full-stream measurement puts a number on what's actually on the belt. Talk to us about your copper stream.
